I need your help. The House of Representatives just voted to censure Charlie Rangel. All well and good. But did they demand restitution? Part of the rationale for this rare censure was the belief that members of Congress should be held to a higher standard. How about making financial reparations for the taxes he did not pay? And how about penalties and interest, just like any other American? Higher standard, my tushie: jail time is not even a consideration.
So could you please enlighten me as to the tangible punishment, if any?
