From the Mouths of Babes

Truth often comes from the mouths of babes.  Even though the above conversation is oversimplified, the sincerity of this little girl’s chatter, and its implications, struck me in my heart.  Of course the turmoil in Egypt is so much more than a contest between those who have money and those who do not.  Yet, if you substitute such principles as justice, freedom and fairness, concepts that this toddler is not mature enough to understand, for her use of the word “money”, you will have the essence of the battle playing out in Egypt.

Above all, I love that fact that her parents took the time to show her the newspaper and explain what is going on in our world.  This was a wonderful effort on the part of her parents to educate and inculcate values in their offspring.  This simple act of putting a newspaper in front of the child and discussing the contents is one of the most basic steps in teaching values to the next generation.

Meanwhile the Egyptian demonstrations are growing in numbers; the freedom fighters are NOT caving in to the tepid, pseudo- conciliatory measures of the government.  This sustains me.

As does this little girl in the video.
